Dances: We will be doing a variety of English Country Dancing with some Contra Dancing thrown in for good measure. English Country Dancing is a living tradition of dances and music and is enjoyed by people the world over. We are looking forward to teaching you dances from the 1600s, 1700s, all the way to new dances written in the last 30 years. Check out the videos posted on the wall for some examples.

Building: We are looking at buildings in the Matthews area that would offer us free use of their buildings (though we would consider surrounding areas and buildings who may request a small fee).

Dates: We want to hear from you! What days of the week work best for you? We are hoping to start weekly dances sometime in January once we have procured a building.

Time: 7-9pm seems to be a time that would be convenient for all, but we welcome any input you may have.

About the Group

This group is for our Charlotte area friends who wish to participate in the delightful pastime of dancing. We have lamented the fact that there is no local dance group and seek to remedy the situation by starting one in a location more central to those in Charlotte and the surrounding areas. We look forward to your input as we seek to launch this group and share our enjoyment of dancing with the Charlotte community!
